"When the schoolmates in east Berlin bought albums by Depeche Mode, Noël spent all his savings on old Beatles bootlegs. Seldom has a musical inspiration left its marks so clearly on a record. 'Wrong Places', sounds like Paul McCartney should have by now. The production is sparse, with discrete elements of strings and electronics, and homogeneous in its sound. Especially 'Love Surrender' and 'Wrong Places' are delightful in their modesty. If the Beatles had not existed, this would have become huge. Now it's just very sensitive, cosy - and worth listening to." Groove
